Sunday morning sunrise on the Llano River at Chuckwagon Breakfast

Starting in 2005, and each year since, a group of chuckwagon enthusiasts get together on the banks of the Llano River in Llano, Texas and go back in time to an era when the west was settled.These enthusiasts use traditional cooking methods from that era, wear traditional dress and experience traditional neighborly fun as they compete for prizes in a number of categories.

Thursday

Noon – Wagons may arrive and set up

Friday

Morning – Wagons must be set up

10:00 am – Wagon Authenticity Judging

Afternoon – Continue Authenticity Judging

Afternoon – Cook Teams receive food supplies

6:30 pm – Host Wagon Dinner for VIP’s and invited guests only

8:00 pm – Live music at the Badu Wine Pub. No admission for an awesome evening of entertainment!

Saturday – The competing teams begin preparing some of the tastiest chuck wagon fare imaginable!

All Day – Heritage Festival / Vendors / Entertainment downtown around the square and the Red Top Jail

Noon – Food is sent to the judges

Noon – Public meal is served

3:00 pm – Announcement of Results

10:00 am – 1:00 pm – MC Tracy Pitcox of the Heart of Texas Country Music Association, The Llano Country Opry, and our own Highway 16 Band, plus a few surprise guests.

8:00 pm – Live music at the Buckhorn Hall in the Railyard District. $10 cover charge.

Sunday

8:00 am – Cowboy Church followed by a free Biscuits and Gravy cowboy breakfast. Donations requested. Music provided by the fantastic Llano Bluegrass Band.
